1ST ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

LAURELLE JONES

Laurelle Jones is a Producer and Director who began her career as a writer back in 2013, with her first short film 'No.27'.

She went on to produce numerous projects including 'Lia’ (2014), which won numerous awards and screened in 11 festivals globally before premiering on US television network Aspire in 2017.

Her passion for creative content took on another shape when she became the Festival Coordinator for the first ever (and only) UK festival for Black Women and Women of Colour ‘Women Of The Lens’.

Her credits include working with artists such as Davido, Wes Nelson, Focalistic and Ayo Beatz. She is currently working as a TV Producer at broadcast network TBNUK.

Laurelle’s aim is to create films that educate, inspire and encourage change. ‘Let’s discuss those taboo subjects and offer alternative narratives’ she says. Her inspirations are Spike Lee, Ava Duvernay, Amma Asante, Lena Waithe, Issa Rae and Debbie Tucker Green to name a few.
